Considered the voice of the Iberian and latin American art song and often described as her ambassador, soprano and musicologist Patricia Caicedo is one of the leading interpreters and researchers of the Iberian and Latin American Art Song Repertoire. She has sung in the United States, Canada, Denmark, Holland, Germany, Russia, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Latin America.
Patricia has recorded eleven CDs dedicated to the art song repertoire in Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese and Indigenous languages and published numerous scholarly editions of scores and books, including The Latin American Art Song: Sounds of the Imagined Nations, the go-to history on its subject. She often visits universities and conservatories around the world as a guest artist and teacher.
Caicedo is the founder and director of the Barcelona Festival of Song®, a 10-day Summer Course and performance series on the history and interpretation of the Latin American and Spanish Vocal repertoire.
Caicedo is the host of the Latin American and Iberian Art Song Podcast, in which she interviews composers and leading experts from across the world.
Patricia holds a Ph.D. in musicology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Medical Doctor´s degree from the Escuela Colombiana de Medicina. Patricia is a member of the Executive Board of the International Music Council.
